Here is your secret to fantastic veges organically".

Improve your plants health and put another quarter of strong healthy strong roots on your plants by using Magic Mulch.

The boost of seaweed has proven to keep all those plants healther and more resistant to bugs and dieases naturally. Another major benefit is the use of less water and the time applying it.
The best way to apply this is by blending through potting mixes, placing a layer ontop of the soil or directy under your woodchip or gravel layers.

Magic Mulch is - a combination of Natures two most beneficial growth aids; sphagnum moss and seaweed. A concentrate solution of seaweed with its abundant supply of over 34 vitamins minerals, trace elements and amino acids, is mixed through a fine grade of moisture-absorbing sphagnum moss to produce an easy to use planting aid.

Sold in two convenient sizes - 10 Litres & 25 Litres

Place a good layer of mulch over the garden.
(One of our 10 litre bags should cover about 1sq. metre of garden).
Work into the garden topsoil with a fork, push- hoe or similar piece equipment.
Watch the difference through out the season.
You can expect to water this area less and you will notice that your plants are slightly bigger in size and noticably stronger in their growth, with a more bountiful crop.
The seaweed content in the moss will help generate a robust and plentiful root system.(Seaweed application can increase root-mass by up to 175%).

With the addition of Magic Mulch, the Brassicas family ( cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli) seem to be more resilient to white butterfly attack.

They will have more flavour due to the trace elements, vitamins, minerals and amino acids that are in the seaweed. Plant your tomatoes as you would for strawberries, see below.

Prepare the area by forking a good layer of Magic Mulch into your growing area, then plant your strawberries as normal.  Place a generous layer  of Magic Mulch about the base of the plants.

A surface layer of Magic Mulch helps reduce excess evaporation from the soil. The natural fungacide properties in the sphagnum moss  will also prevent damage to the fruit that can develop from contact with the soil surface.

The blueberry plants really enjoy moss as it is natural for them to live in very damp (bog) conditions.

This means you need to work a lot of Magic Mulch into the soil before planting. One 10 litre bag should be mixed with a 25 litre of good quality potting mix.

Some of our customers are reporting that they are digging a trench, filling this with Magic Mulch and then placing a small layer of soil over the Mulch  before sowing seeds ie. carrots, parsnips and other root crops.(Young roots love to grow into sphagnum moss).

Satisfied gardeners have reported that their root crops are growing better with more flavour with much deeper roots, full of moisture.

Place a 5cm layer between the stem and drip-line of the plants and water into place.

A layer of top soil or ground covering bark chips, gravel etc. will keep the mulch in place if the area is exposed to strong winds or water run-off.

Magic Mulch is the perfect environment to establish new root growth.Sphagnum moss takes many years to break down and when it does it turns to peat so with Magic Mulch you have a very long and beneficial addition to your garden.

Using Sphagnum Moss under the ground is one of the most beneficial things you can do and once you start this practice you will find it hard to get out of. Magic Mulch is ideal for this as it also holds  the benefitial properties of seaweed.

It works in the following ways:-
Dig a hole throw a good amount of Magic Mulch into the hole and blend with soil or compost. Position your plant and fill in the hole to within 5 cm. from the surface then place another 2-3 cm. layer of Magic Mulch about it and cover with soil. This will create a long lasting water absorbing blanket of moss that will ensure a ready moisture supply to your plants.

The moss will hold up to 20 times its own weight in water and the seaweed will slowly feed the plant.( Please note that Magic Mulch is not high in nitrogen so it will not burn the root matter).

The qualities of seaweed provide growth stimulants and will also release locked-up vitamins and minerals from the soil - a great benefit to the plants health and development.
